Miumosa Advances Indonesia’s Contemporary Heritage Through Global Trade Opportunities at Trade Expo Indonesia 2026

Thursday, October 29, 2026

JAKARTA, Indonesia — Miumosa, a design-led cultural IP company, presented its contemporary interpretation of Indonesian cultural heritage at Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2026, held on 14–18 October 2026. Showcasing its creative portfolio at Bank Indonesia Hall 8, Miumosa engaged with buyers, business partners, and visitors to explore opportunities for bringing Indonesian-inspired design into international markets and contemporary living.

Through its portfolio spanning fashion, accessories, lifestyle products, and culturally inspired designs, Miumosa demonstrated how Indonesian heritage can be translated into contemporary products for retail, corporate gifting, institutional partnerships, and international distribution. The company’s approach combines cultural narratives with design innovation, positioning heritage not merely as a source of inspiration, but as a foundation for distinctive products and creative collaborations.

“We want Indonesian heritage to move beyond being admired as tradition and become part of how people live, connect, and experience contemporary design. Our role is to interpret our cultural roots thoughtfully and create products and intellectual property that can travel across markets without losing their identity. For Miumosa, international expansion is not only about reaching new customers, but also about bringing Indonesia’s creative perspective into a wider global conversation,” said Anindya Sukarni, Founder and CEO of PT Miumosa Artha Mandiri.

TEI 2026 forms part of Miumosa’s broader business development strategy, which prioritizes curated B2B partnerships, export distribution, and opportunities in corporate and institutional markets. With international market development initiatives spanning Europe and Japan, alongside its established presence in Indonesia, the company continues to explore distribution, sourcing, OEM, and private-label opportunities suited to different market requirements. Miumosa also sees growing potential in design-led collaborations that connect cultural identity with the needs of businesses, institutions, hospitality operators, and specialty retailers.

Through its participation in TEI 2026, Miumosa reaffirmed its commitment to developing Indonesian cultural heritage into contemporary design expressions with international relevance. As the company advances its export and partnership agenda, its long-term vision remains to build a sustainable creative business in which cultural identity, original design, and intellectual property contribute to meaningful commercial opportunities. Miumosa’s vision is clear: to bring Indonesian heritage beyond borders through design. (RED)

Indonesian Founder Anindya Sukarni Takes Cultural IP Agenda to WIPO International Forum

Thursday, October 29, 2026

As a panelist at WIPO’s cross-regional forum, the Miumosa founder brings Indonesia’s experience in translating cultural heritage into contemporary design and intellectual property to an international conversation on women-led creative enterprise.

JAKARTA, Indonesia — September 25, 2026 — Indonesian businesswoman Anindya Sukarni, Founder and CEO of Miumosa, brought Indonesia’s perspective on cultural intellectual property (IP) to the international stage as a panelist at the WIPO Cross-Regional Forum on Women Creators and Entrepreneurs: Leveraging IP for Asia-Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, held in Manila, Philippines, on September 21–23, 2026. The forum convened 34 women creators and entrepreneurs from 15 countries, creating a cross-regional platform to discuss how intellectual property can support creative businesses, strengthen brand identity, and expand opportunities beyond domestic markets.

Anindya’s participation places a timely question at the centre of Indonesia’s creative economy: how can cultural heritage become a foundation for contemporary innovation and globally relevant intellectual property? Through Miumosa, a design-led cultural IP company established in 2020 after she developed her design business in 2018, Anindya has pursued this question through fashion, accessories, and lifestyle products inspired by Indonesia’s cultural traditions. Rather than reproducing heritage as decoration, Miumosa develops contemporary design expressions informed by cultural research, visual interpretation, and a distinctive brand language.

The company’s design identities—including the Miumosa Monogram, Kawung Miumosa, and Trisita—illustrate this approach. Its growing design bank encompasses thousands of design assets across multiple product categories, reflecting a broader ambition to treat design as a strategic creative asset rather than simply a component of product development. In the case of Kawung Miumosa, the work draws inspiration from the traditional Kawung motif while developing a distinct contemporary interpretation, recognising the cultural heritage that precedes the brand.

For Anindya, the commercial and cultural dimensions of this work are inseparable from responsible IP management. Research, original interpretation, brand development, and appropriate protection mechanisms are essential to establishing a distinctive creative identity. This is especially relevant for businesses seeking international expansion, where intellectual property can distinguish original creative work, support collaboration, and build a stronger foundation for long-term growth. Her experience offers a perspective on how Indonesian creative enterprises can approach international markets with cultural integrity and a clearer understanding of the assets they are building.

“My ambition is not simply to bring Indonesian products to the world. It is to build Indonesian creative IP that can cross borders, connect cultures, and create lasting value. Our heritage is not only something to preserve; it is a source of ideas, design, and creative possibilities for the future,” says Anindya Sukarni.

Her participation in the WIPO forum reflects a wider opportunity for Indonesia’s creative sector: to move beyond presenting cultural products as finished goods and to develop the intellectual property, design identities, and creative capabilities behind them. For Miumosa, the long-term ambition is to contribute to a global design landscape in which Indonesian cultural references are approached with respect, developed through original contemporary expression, and recognised for their contribution to creative innovation. The goal is not merely to export products, but to build Indonesian creative identities with the potential to travel internationally. (RED)

The MoU signing took place during Jakarta Kreatif Festival 2026, facilitated by the Bank Indonesia Jakarta Representative Office in collaboration with the Center for Export Human Resources Development and Trade Services (PPEJP), an institution dedicated to strengthening Indonesia’s export capabilities through capacity building and international trade development programs.

This strategic partnership reinforces Miumosa’s international presence through collaboration with a Netherlands-based partner while creating new opportunities for distribution, business matching, and market development across Europe.

Innovation Begins in the Margins (An intro to Miumosa eJournal: Every Pour Begins with a Story)

Friday, July 3, 2026

“Details make perfection, and perfection is not a detail.”
— Leonardo da Vinci

There is a belief that has gradually changed the way I think about design.

Our attention often begins—and ends—with the finished object. We admire its form, appreciate its function, and celebrate its beauty. Yet long before a piece becomes something we can hold, there is another space that is rarely seen: pages of sketches, handwritten notes in the margins, months of research, conversations with artisans, and the quiet persistence of refining an idea over and over again. It is there, I believe, that innovation truly begins.

Building Miumosa has taught me that the greatest value of a creation does not reside solely in the object itself, but in the idea that gave birth to it. Every design carries knowledge, cultural identity, lived experience, and time. It is intellectual property worthy of recognition—not only once it becomes a product, but from the very moment it exists as an idea.

This perspective feels increasingly relevant as intellectual property becomes one of the defining pillars of tomorrow’s creative economy. Through the ongoing work of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), we are reminded that creativity is far more than artistic expression. It is an economic asset, a catalyst for innovation, and a means of preserving cultural heritage for generations to come.

That realization has led Miumosa into its next chapter.

Today, we are exploring how technology can serve as a guardian—not a replacement—of the creative process. By developing an intellectual property ecosystem supported by RFID and blockchain technologies, we envision a future where every design possesses a verifiable identity, every work carries a documented provenance, and every creator receives rightful recognition for the ideas they bring into the world. To us, innovation is not only about creating something new. It is equally about ensuring that what is valuable retains its authenticity, integrity, and meaning over time.

This is where our journey is heading.

Miumosa will always create artworks rooted in the richness of Indonesian culture. Yet our purpose now extends beyond the products themselves. We aim to help build an ecosystem where creativity is valued as intellectual capital, where culture is valued as living knowledge, and where technology helps protect both. So they remain relevant, trusted, and enduring for generations to come.

Because every creation will eventually find its owner. But only those whose stories are carefully preserved will become a legacy.

— Anindya Sukarni
